WORLD T’AI CHI AND QIGONG DAY

During the last Saturday in April, parks and classes fill with enthusiasts on World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day. Whether you’re experienced or new to the art and meditation of Tai Chi and Qigong, the day encourages you to join an event and share in the peace.

The ancient art of t’ai chi provides health benefits through movement, meditation, and breathing. Incorporating the basic principles of the various styles of t’ai chi, which can vary depending on style, are an important part of the art form. Qigong is the combined principals applied to tai chi.

World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day aims to help teachers and practitioners to increase awareness of the benefits of this ancient art form. The more who practice T’ai Chi around the world, the more their communities will see the benefits. Of course, health benefits come to mind first of all. Every age group participates in T’ai Chi! But the benefits don’t stop there. Healthier populations also create more productive and less stressed communities.
