GLOBAL TALENT ACQUISITION DAY

Global Talent Acquisition Day celebrated on the first Wednesday of September recognizes those who work in talent acquisition.

What exactly is talent acquisition? Essentially, it is the process of finding skilled workers. These skilled workers are either needed to run organizations or to meet labor requirements. Professionals working in talent acquisition include anyone who finds and hires talented people. Their goal is always to find the right person for the job. Talent acquisition includes recruiters, hiring managers, HR professionals, staffers, or anyone else that is in charge of finding talented workers.

Throughout the observance, cities such as Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington D.C., Portland and, San Diego celebrate in a variety of ways. Talent acquisition companies in these cities and others also host happy hours, luncheons, and conferences.

If you are in charge of a talent acquisition team, you could:

Host a happy hour or luncheon
Order treats for your TA team
Have an outdoor party or barbecue
Decorate the office
Tag your TA team on social media
Take your TA team out for a round of miniature golf or other outdoor activity

If you are an employee or member of an organization, take the opportunity to send thank yous to those you’ve hired. You can show your appreciation by giving them a shout-out on social media. A written thank you note shows a meaningful moment taken to show that appreciation. Or, invite them to coffee or lunch.
