Never Give Up Day was founded by Alain Horoit, aka “Mr. Never Give Up,” in 2019. He initiated this amazing movement to celebrate perseverance and resilience after his own personal journey. Marked by challenges and setbacks, Horoit became inspired to create a day that honored the unwavering spirit of individuals who persist in the face of adversity. Through his efforts, he is becoming a world leader in spreading the world to never give up!
In 2025, Alain submitted Never Give Up Day to National Day Calendar in hopes of making the day a permanent day on the Calendar.
The Registrar at National Day Calendar approved the day to be celebrated each year on August 18. After careful consideration, it was decided Never Give Up Day would change its name to World Never Give Up day to reflect the fast growing movement around the world.
