About the Founder: El Pollo Loco
In 1974, Pancho Ochoa was operating a shoe store when he realized his local restaurant was--unreliable. Luckily, Pancho had a secret weapon: a family chicken recipe with a signature citrus marinade and a serious passion for fire grilled chicken that people really seemed to go crazy for. That's when he got a "loco" idea. He was going to start a roadside stand in Guasave, Mexico serving his signature chicken recipe.
