YOUR OBSERVANCE GOES HERE
(Revised in July 2026)
THE NAME OF YOUR OBSERVANCE GOES HERE
Congratulations on approval of your new observance! The next step is to create the article for your personal webpage. We will try to provide you with as much information as possible to create the perfect page for your observance.
#YourHashtagHere
National Day Calendar will write the article for your observance. We encourage you to provide information to us. However, we will arrange all content to fit our guidelines and rules. All information provided to us will be researched and verified.
The format of this article is designed much like the final version of your article. You will notice heading placement, style and layout are similar for all articles placed on our website. We follow a standard format throughout and do not stray from that format. In addition, we require a 750-word minimum within the page format.
Below is a summary of additional information for common questions regarding the format of your observance on the website.
Article Sections
-
Images - We will create your branded image based on what the theme of your observance is. We accept images for website placement but have strict guidelines:
Professional photos only that are HD
Colorful and dynamic work best
No logos or words within the image unless they are discreetly placed within a main feature
No smaller than 1024 x 576 pixels.
-
Main Story and Introduction - This section includes:
Introduction paragraph
Hashtag Heading
Main story about your observance. This is where we "explain" what your observance is about. You can also insert facts and/quotes here. We often use subheadings in this section to break up the information if there is a lot of text.
The content in this section cannot sound like an advertisement for a product or service. This section is to "hook" your reader into wanting to continue reading more. News outlets tend to NOT read about new observances if they sound like we are selling them your product or service.
-
How to Observe and/or Celebration - This section is the "celebration" portion of your article. This section provides ways to observe or celebration your observance. It's recommended to have at least 5 points that should contain:
Exciting ways to celebrate.
Celebration language that includes the #Hashtag that will be used on social media.
-
History - This section is to recap the name and date of the observance, a quick overview of the founder, and reiterate a brief description of the observance.
-
Founder - This section contains information about the founder, including logos and links. This should be no longer than 3 paragraphs long.
-
Follow - This section contains any social media platforms you want to include. We provide the platform icon and link your channels. This is also where your media contact information will be inserted.
We will work together to finalize the article. Once we have worked through the process and after we receive authorization to publish, the article will be published immediately to the website unless asked otherwise.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER PUBLICATION?
Once the article is finalized, we begin working towards announcing your observance. This process is done entirely in-house in accordance with our guidelines and does not require approval of the founder. Our methods of release are based on years of experience, which have been fine-tuned to deliver success.
Announcement of Your Day
Publish Article
We publish your article to live status making it available for viewing on our website.
Media Alert, New Observation Proclamation, and Social Media Posts
We create:
Media Alert - Created on a dedicated page on our website to be used as a redirect for media outlets, email subscribers and social media posts. This page contains information taken directly from the article and put into a format that is usable by our confidential list of over 20,000 media outlet sources.
Social Media Posts - Multiple social media posts are created for all platforms using the approved branded image in the article. These social media posts are then put into a software program to be released at a specific time. All language within the social media posts is taken directly from the article while using additional creative language that appeals to each social media platform.
NOTE: The Media Alert and Social Media posts do not require founder approval. We can share the Media Alert creatives upon request once it has been created, finalized, and scheduled. Social Media creatives are not sharable due to software access requirements.
