NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR CLASSROOM – Week of September 17, 2018

In the National Day Calendar Classroom for the Week of September 17, 2018, we turn to Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to start off the week. The classroom will challenge students will lessons, crossword puzzles, word searches, a quiz, and trivia. In honor of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, we introduce Woebegone the Pirate and ask him about citizenship for a little flavor of Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Sharing on social media isn’t required, learning is. But if you do, please use #NDCClassroom to share on social media.

LESSON 1 – Constitution Day and Citizenship Day

The National Constitution Center offers outstanding resources for classrooms. Always focused on the founding documents of the United States, the site provides lessons plans for all grade levels. For Citizenship Day, visit their Naturalization Center page to see if you can pass their test.

The classroom includes a quiz with this week’s lesson.  Students will need to read the information in the Constitution Day and Citizenship Day article to find the answers.
