Meet Megan Koehler – I was born and raised in Beulah, North Dakota. I am half Indonesian from my mother’s side and am lucky enough to understand and speak Indonesian. Currently, I attend Brigham Young University Idaho, and my degree is in Communication emphasized in video production. Right now, I am attending classes online from my home in Beulah. When I am not doing online classes, you will find me spending time with my 94-year-old grandma. We usually have lunch together and watch her favorite show, Jeopardy!.
Megan has International Flair
I also travel to many different places from Russia, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Indonesia. On top of all that, I love trying new things. In high school, I tried to do as many new activities as possible, from cross country, cheerleading, dance, girls basketball, girls golf, and track. I also tried pageants and fell in love with it. I am currently a titleholder of Miss Beulah International 2020. On January 10, 2021, I was named Miss North Dakota International. My platform is based on this program since I fell in love with the story behind it.
#CelebrateEveryDay is what we need more than ever, especially in 2020 with all the news and drama. We should instead Celebrate Every Day by spreading the joy and knowing and respecting all serious days. As Miss North Dakota International 2021, I will be visiting local schools around North Dakota, whether in zoom meetings or driving down there, and have a big celebration with the students, hopefully having an impact with my message. I also love to meet the locals all around North Dakota and hear their stories. In addition to that, I plan to mentor the young girls in the BIO Girls organization and volunteer at my local library. I am glad to be a part of this program and am excited about where this journey takes me!
