JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a creative writer to join our team at National Day Calendar. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and writing new content for newly created national days, as well as reworking old content. This individual will also create other featured written material to be published on the National Day Calendar website.
This position is NOT a remote position. Successful candidate will be working in our home base office in Mandan.
All applicants are required to submit a writing sample with the application.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities include:
- Research and develop new content for newly created National Days, including finding interesting facts, quotes, and historical information to include in the content.
- Rewrite and update existing content for National Days to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Write engaging feature articles related to National Days, holidays, and other cultural events.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and spelling.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency in the writing style and tone across all National Day Calendar content.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for National Days and content.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred OR at least 2 years of experience in writing, content creation, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to write engaging and creative content.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with AP style is preferred, but not required.
Working Hours
The position is full-time, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
