CLASSROOM – Umbrella
National Umbrella Day kicks off a simple classroom project this week. Since umbrellas protect us from rain and sun, they come in handy all year long. They also come in all kinds of fabrics, colors, and sizes.
Umbrellas also offer fun, unique and colorful art inspiration. Their mechanics provide a lesson in engineering, too. This week, the classroom shares several ways to celebrate the day with your students.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Download and print the color page we designed just for the classroom. We also provide several other suggestions from the internet. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Of course, as always, sharing on social media isn’t required; learning is. But if you do, please use #NDCClassroom to share on social media.
THIS WEEK’S PROJECTS
Get out the markers or crayons. We have a new color page specific to National Umbrella Day. Other ways to celebrate in the classroom include:
- Weather projects
- Paint an umbrella as a class and donate it to a silent auction for a good cause.
- Make a paper umbrella.
There are over 1,500 national days. Don’t miss a single one. Celebrate Every Day® with National Day Calendar®!
