National Day Calendar Classroom - March 2020 - Let's Laugh

National Let’s Laugh Day inspires the classroom to have a little fun. Whether student make up knock-knock jokes or act a little silly for the day, you know it’s a great way to release some of that pent up energy that builds up this time of year. The weather is getting nice and playing goofy games help them to use their bodies and brains in challenging ways. When we laugh, we release tension. Any student tense about upcoming tests, college admissions or a big game needs a good laugh. Incorporating a good belly laugh in your classroom can release tension and improve the overall mood in a classroom, too.

Download this week’s printables or try our other suggestions. We also hope you’ll try other ways to incorporate humor and laughter into your classroom.

Of course, as always, sharing on social media isn’t required; learning is. But if you do, please use #NDCClassroom to share on social media.

We added some challenging but funny projects this week. However, we also encourage the students to get up and get moving, too. Sometimes, improving our mood isn’t as simple as telling a joke. Sometimes we need to make a routine of it infusing laughter into our lives. That’s where sessions of laughter yoga, like in the video below, come in. This instructional video not only shows the students how to do laughter yoga, but why it’s helpful.
